Christmas comes to Hemlington Community Hub

Today (Saturday 13 December), Luke visited a festive Christmas event at the Hemlington Library & Community Hub, as families from across the area came together.

Organised by Hemlington Community Council and ward councillors Tom Mohan and Nicky Walker, the event featured local stalls, children’s activities and a Santa’s Grotto.

Luke also called in at the nearby Habinteg Community Centre, which was also hosting a Christmas market. Both venues reflected the strength of community spirit across Hemlington – bringing people together by providing warm, affordable and inclusive spaces for families to meet and celebrate.

Luke Myer MP said:

“It was lovely to see both events so well attended. This was a real reminder of how strong community spirit is in Hemlington and how much difference local volunteers make.”
