What I do

As our MP, my job is to represent our area in Parliament. I raise issues affecting local people, including by asking questions to government ministers. Together with other MPs, I debate and consider new laws. My priorities are tackling poverty, bringing more jobs to Teesside including in green industries, and helping improve our public services like the NHS, police or councils.
Some MPs prioritise Westminster. There is nothing wrong with that, but it’s not the way I do things. My staff are based in the constituency, in our office in Guisborough. I come home every week, and spend time meeting people and businesses. I work with your councillors to make improvements to the local area. See the map below for some of the work I’ve been doing for you.

How an MP can help
MPs are here to help, but they can’t help with everything. This House of Commons guidance explains what an MP can help with, and what should be raised with your local councillor or other services.
