Highcliffe Primary School Council Visits Parliament

Luke Myer MP was delighted to welcome the School Council from Highcliffe Primary School to Parliament during their recent visit to Westminster.

The pupils came prepared with a range of thoughtful questions and ideas, sparking conversations on key local issues such as the need for more bins in Guisborough, the impact of theft on the community, and how to support local police efforts. They also discussed Luke’s work to bring more green jobs to the region — a subject that prompted particular interest.

The students were keen to learn more about life as a Member of Parliament, asking what the role involves on a day-to-day basis. Luke shared his experience openly, saying, “It’s busy, sometimes tough — but always worthwhile when you get to make a difference for our home and meet brilliant young people like this!”

He praised the group for their curiosity, confidence, and commitment to their school and community.
