Luke Myer MP joined Jade Lavan and her dedicated team to mark Dementia Action Week and celebrate the official launch of the new Lavan Dementia Care Services community hub at Sleights Court in Guisborough.

Since taking over at Sleights Court last year, Jade and her team have transformed the site into a warm, welcoming, and nurse-led service that specialises in dementia care. The hub now offers a wide range of support — from home visits and Sunday community sessions to creative arts and crafts activities — all designed to help individuals live with dignity and connection.

Luke praised the energy, compassion, and commitment of the entire team. “I’ve known Jade for years, and she always brings a huge amount of heart to everything she does. Sleights Court is no exception — thanks again to Jade, Megan, Nicki, Emma and Emily and the whole team for the incredible work you do.”
