Luke Myer MP helped a family in Park End secure a two-year pause on student loan repayments for their seriously ill daughter, after the Student Loans Company continued to chase an overpayment from her time at university.

Despite her being bedbound in hospital, and now in a care home, calls and letters demanding repayment were still being made. After Luke raised the case with the Student Loans Company and provided medical evidence from her family and her doctor, repayments were formally put on hold for 24 months, giving the family breathing space while they focus on her health.
