Luke Myer MP Celebrates A Level and T Level Achievements

MP Visits Prior Pursglove and Trinity Catholic Colleges to congratulate students and staff

14 August 2025 – Teesside

Luke Myer MP visited both Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough where he once studied and Trinity Catholic College in Middlesbrough today to celebrate the remarkable achievements of their A Level and T Level students.

During his visits, Luke offered heartfelt congratulations:

“Seeing your dedication unfold into remarkable results fills me with pride. This journey is not easy, yet here you are, achieving, striving, pushing boundaries. Remember, this moment opens doors. It’s the start of new opportunities. Whether your results match your hopes or prompts a rethink, know that there is a path forward built on your ambition. Trust yourself, explore your options, and keep moving toward the future you want.”

Luke also paid tribute to the dedication of teachers and support staff at both colleges:

“These results do not happen by accident. Behind every success story is the tireless commitment of staff who guide, inspire, and go the extra mile for their students. I want to thank every member of the teaching and support teams for the role they play in shaping futures.”

His visit highlighted the colleges outstanding support for ambitious students. At Trinity Catholic College, the energy was equally uplifting. The school has experienced a notable academic upswing; Ofsted awarded its best report in 15 years, praising improvements in behaviour, personal development, leadership, and sixth-form provision, all contributing to an environment where students can truly thrive. The school also emphasises inclusive, high-quality teaching and comprehensive pastoral support, helping learners achieve outstanding results.

Prior Pursglove College celebrated another excellent set of exam results this year, with improved performance across many subject areas and high grades (A* to B) exceeding 40% once again in A levels and Applied General qualifications, while the majority of subjects achieved a 100% pass rate. Results day marked the culmination of students’ hard work, enabling them to progress onto higher education, apprenticeships and employment, opening up great opportunities for the future.

For staff, the day was particularly rewarding as they witnessed students who had overcome significant challenges achieve something special, alongside those attaining exceptional results in both A level and Applied General qualifications. The college expressed confidence that it had not only supported young people to achieve strong academic outcomes but also to develop the skills and qualities needed to cope with the demands of whichever path they choose to follow.

Both Prior Pursglove and Trinity stand out for nurturing student success, through rigorous academics, supportive teaching, and focused pathways designed to prepare individuals for whatever comes next.
