Luke visits Park House Care Home in Guisborough

Luke Myer MP visited Park House Care Home in Guisborough to spend time with residents and staff and see first-hand the care being provided to people living with dementia in the local community.

During the visit, Luke was welcomed by home manager Jennifer Draper and joined residents for a festive morning of Christmas carol singing, accompanied by the Stokesley Acoustic Wind Band. The visit offered a chance to see daily life at the home up-close, from shared activities to the warm, relaxed atmosphere created for residents and their families.

Park House provides residential and residential dementia care, with a strong focus on dignity and creating a genuine sense of home. Luke spoke with staff about the challenges and rewards of caring for people with complex needs, and about the importance of supporting carers with the time, training and recognition they deserve.

The home has recently been recognised as one of the Top 20 care homes in the North East, based on independent reviews from residents and families, reflecting the high standards of care delivered by the team.

Luke Myer MP said:

“It was a real pleasure to visit Park House and spend time with residents and staff. Joining in with their festive celebrations was a lovely reminder of how important community and shared moments are, especially for people living with dementia. The care, patience and kindness shown by the team every day is exceptional, and it gives families real reassurance that their loved ones are being supported with dignity and compassion.”
