Today, Luke Myer MP joined local residents to celebrate the opening of The Lingdale Tavern, an exciting new venue that promises to be the heart of the community. Located in the centre of Lingdale, the Tavern combines a luxury bar with a community hub, offering something for everyone.
The Lingdale Tavern has been designed to support and strengthen the local community, with facilities and programmes aimed at making a positive difference. Beyond its coffee shop, restaurant, and bar, the Tavern will also offer social workers, trained psychologists, and a community room for events and workshops and youth activities. This innovative approach creates a space where everyone can feel welcome, whether they are looking to enjoy a meal, meet friends, or take part in community programmes.
Luke Myer MP visited the venue and met the team. He praised the vision behind the project, saying:
“The Lingdale Tavern is much more than just a place to eat or drink. It is a venue dedicated to supporting our community, with social workers, youth activities, and a safe place to access support. It was fantastic to meet the team behind this wonderful space, which will be a real asset for all of East Cleveland. I encourage everyone to visit and experience it for themselves.”
The Tavern officially opened its doors at 8:00 am today (Monday 2 December), with its coffee shop and restaurant ready to welcome guests. The coffee shop offers barista-crafted drinks and freshly baked treats, while the restaurant serves meals inspired by local flavours. The bar is also open, serving a wide range of drinks, from draught beers to signature cocktails.
In the coming weeks, the Tavern will unveil additional facilities, including a community room for meetings and events, a games room with a pool table, dartboard, and Sky TV, and a 100-inch screen in the upstairs function room for live sports screenings. The venue is designed to be a welcoming environment for everyone, fostering connections and creating a vibrant social space for the whole community.
