Two NHS workers have had hospital parking fines cancelled after Luke Myer MP stepped in to help.
A local NHS worker contacted Luke after she and colleagues received parking charges at the Friarage Hospital despite paying for staff parking permits through their wages. She said the fines were causing distress after staff had already worked long 12-hour shifts on busy wards.
Luke raised the issue directly with ParkingEye and the hospital trust, asking for the cases to be reviewed and for staff paying for parking permits not to be unfairly penalised. Following Luke’s intervention, ParkingEye confirmed that the parking charges for two NHS workers had been cancelled. The constituent thanked Luke for getting the issue sorted, saying she and her colleagues were “so very grateful”.
Luke is proud to stand with NHS workers fighting for better working conditions.
