A Lingdale woman has finally received her Civil Service pension, lump sum and five months of back payments after Luke Myer MP repeatedly intervened over delays to her retirement payments.
The constituent had worked in the Civil Service for nearly 32 years and partially retired in March. Despite applying months in advance, she was still waiting for her pension payments five months later, with no clear date for when the money she was owed would arrive.
Luke and his team repeatedly escalated her case with Civil Service Pensions, Capita and the Cabinet Office. An earlier assurance that her case would be resolved by the end of March was not met, and Luke continued pressing for action as the delays dragged on. In June, she finally received the pension offer she had been waiting for, but Luke continued pursuing the case because she had still not actually received the money. In August, the constituent finally received her lump sum and five months of pension arrears, followed by her first regular monthly pension payment. She thanked Luke for “all your assistance” and said she appreciated everything he and his team had done to help resolve the problem.
Luke is continuing to pursue Civil Service Pensions and Capita over outstanding interest and other problems affecting pensioners, including difficulties accessing pension payslips.
