Luke Myer MP helped a driver from Nunthorpe get an unfair private parking charge at Teesside Park cancelled after her car broke down and she overstayed the four-hour limit while waiting for the AA.
After Luke raised the case with both the site management and Minster Baywatch, the company confirmed the Parking Charge Notice had been cancelled in light of the breakdown.
The resident said she was “extremely happy” with how the case was handled and thanked Luke for pushing back where the charge was clearly unreasonable. She also urged firms to improve signage and show more leniency in genuine emergencies, noting that even a £20 charge “will definitely not be the case for everyone – especially on the back of car repairs.”
Luke will continue to scrutinise private parking enforcement locally to make sure it is fair and common-sense.
