Luke joins Coulby Newham Tesco for £5,000 Grant to Local School

10 September 2025

Tesco customers in Coulby Newham now have the chance to award a £5,000 Golden Grant to a local school, including Lingfield Primary, through the Stronger Starts programme. Shoppers are being invited to cast their blue tokens in store to decide which school will receive the boost, helping to fund projects that support children’s nutrition, wellbeing and learning. This event gives our community a fantastic opportunity to come together and back local schools. Every token cast could help secure a transformational grant for playground improvements, reading programmes or resources that make a real difference in classrooms.

It was also great to join the team at Tesco Coulby Newham to confirm their £5,000 Golden Grant towards local children’s causes. A big well done to Lingfield Primary who will now be able to build new outdoor learning spaces with the funding, and congratulations to Kate from Hemlington for drawing the gold token and choosing the school. This brilliant scheme will make a real difference for young people in our area.

Luke said,
“Tesco stores like Coulby Newham are more than shopping stops, they are the heart of our communities. Hosting events like Golden Grants gives customers a fun and meaningful way to support our schools directly. A £5,000 boost could fund reading initiatives, outdoor equipment or educational materials to inspire our young learners at Lingfield Primary and beyond.”
