Luke gets to the root of Easterside tree trouble

Action secured on overgrown Easterside tree after years of delays

This week, Luke Myer MP secured long-overdue action from Middlesbrough Council for a resident in Easterside, after an overgrown tree had been left to encroach over her roof and damage her fence despite repeated reports over several years.

Following Luke’s intervention, the council confirmed that the Neighbourhood Manager had arranged for the tree to be cut back, with works scheduled to take place within the next few weeks. This finally gives the resident clarity after years of frustration, and reduces the risk of further damage to her home.

Small issues like overgrown trees can quickly become major worries when they threaten people’s property. Luke continues to push the council to respond faster to environmental issues so residents feel safe and supported in their homes.
