Luke Myer MP recently met with Habinteg Housing Association, which manages 214 social houses in Hemlington. During the meeting, he spoke with Nic Bungay, Habinteg’s national housing director, along with local neighbourhood coordinator Rachel Furness and tenant representative Di Thompson.
They discussed progress in tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in the area. One resident shared his experience of prolonged crime, which had severely impacted his mental health. However, thanks to coordinated efforts with the police, the resident is now living peacefully and safely.
Luke also addressed delays in property repairs, an issue he had previously raised with Habinteg’s chief executive, Nick Apetroaie. He was pleased to hear that a new contractor has been brought in, and repairs are now being completed more quickly. It is hoped that residents are beginning to notice improvements.
For any housing issues, residents can contact Luke at luke.myer.mp@parliament.uk or reach out to Habinteg at direct@habinteg.org.uk.
