Luke meets North York Moors National Park Authority at Roseberry Topping

Celebrating Yorkshire Day by backing conservation, access, and investment in our national park

25th July 2025

Luke Myer MP met with representatives from the North York Moors National Park Authority at Roseberry Topping to discuss their ongoing work to protect and improve the park’s treasured landscapes. The visit included an update on the Authority’s path repair programme, delivered in partnership with the National Trust, and a wider conversation about future collaboration across conservation, tourism, and rural access.

Earlier this year, Luke met the team in Parliament to mark the 75th anniversary of Labour’s creation of the National Parks in 1949, a landmark policy that led to the designation of 15 national parks across the UK, including the North York Moors as the sixth in 1952.

Luke said:
“From conservation to rural access and tourism, there’s so much potential in our patch. I’m keen to make sure our national park gets the support it needs to thrive, both for those who live here and those who visit. Wishing everyone a happy Yorkshire Day!”
