Today, 6 November 2025, Luke Myer MP attended the dedication of the Field of Remembrance and the Laying of the First Poppy in Middlesbrough, an event that honoured the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First and Second World War, and conflicts across the world.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the courage and dedication of those who served and gave their lives in the defence of freedom. Luke Myer MP had the privilege of laying a cross in memory of the fallen.
Speaking at the event, he emphasised the importance of remembering those who have given so much for our country, recognising their sacrifices as a cornerstone of our national identity.
The event also saw local schools taking part in the commemorations, with students contributing to the remembrance proceedings. Luke took the opportunity to thank all the schools involved for their participation, praising them for teaching the next generation about the significance of remembrance and the value of honouring those who served.
