Luke Myer MP and his wife Beth joined local residents in Marton on Saturday for the South Middlesbrough Charity Pub Crawl, a community event raising funds for two important causes – the Children’s Ward at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The event, which brought together supporters from across south Middlesbrough, saw participants visit pubs across the area including The Southern Cross, The Rudds Arms, The Apple Tree, The Blue Bell, and The Lingfield, raising money and awareness for the charities.
Speaking after the event, Luke said:
“It was great to pop by and support such a fantastic community effort. This is a cause that means a lot to me personally, and it was a fantastic effort from everyone who organised and took part.”
The pub crawl raised funds for two organisations that support children and young people facing serious illness. The Teenage Cancer Trust provides specialist care and support for teenagers with cancer, while the RVI Children’s Ward delivers life-saving treatment and care to families from across the North East.
