Luke Myer MP dropped in on Marton Community Centre’s Summer Fair today, joining families and local residents for an afternoon of community fun.
The fair was organised by Marton East councillors Dorothy Davison and Jason McConnell, alongside the volunteers of Marton Community Centre and Marton East Community Council. The fun day had a wide range of activities, including inflatables, stalls, a raffle, food and entertainment for families.
Luke spent time visiting the different stalls, chatting with residents and catching up with Dorothy about what is happening locally. He also had a go on the tombola and came away with several prizes!
It is an exciting year for Marton Community Centre, with last month marking the start of the new Marton Youth Club, run by Linx. The new youth provision is part of Labour Mayor Chris Cooke’s pledge to bring dedicated youth services to every ward in Middlesbrough, giving young people in Marton somewhere safe and positive to go.
Luke gets out and about across south Middlesbrough all year round. If you have a local event or community group you would like Luke to visit, just get in touch.
