Signage has now been installed at the new MFC Foundation youth and community hub at Ben Scott’s Field in Loftus, ahead of the facility opening.

The signage has been installed by local company Loftus Large Format, with further internal and wayfinding signage being completed as the finishing touches continue.

The new illuminated sign marks another step forward for the project, which will provide a fantastic new community space for Loftus and the wider East Cleveland area.

Luke Myer MP visited the site earlier this year while construction was underway, meeting with the MFC Foundation team and seeing first-hand the progress being made.

The project has been supported by the hard work of local partners, including the Labour administration at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, alongside the continued backing of Luke as MP and the Labour Government’s wider focus on investing in communities.

The new facility will create opportunities for local people through sport, activities and community programmes, with the Middlesbrough FC Foundation playing a key role in delivering opportunities for young people.

Luke has long championed the importance of giving children and families the right support close to home. Before entering Parliament, he worked as a teacher and, while serving on Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, helped establish new Family Hubs in Loftus and Skelton to provide early support for local families in East Cleveland. That commitment continues through Luke’s work as MP, with a focus on ensuring young people across East Cleveland have access to opportunities, activities and support. This includes welcoming the Labour Government’s announcement of a new Young Futures Hub for Redcar and Cleveland, helping young people access advice, guidance and support.

The opening of Ben Scott’s Field Pavilion will add another important community asset for Loftus, building on the town’s proud history and helping create new opportunities for future generations.
