Cleveland & Danby Methodist Circuit Celebrates New Chapter

30th August 2025 – Guisborough

Luke Myer MP was delighted to join the congregation at Guisborough Methodist Church to welcome Reverend Meg Peters as she begins her new role in the circuit. The service marked an important moment for the church community, bringing people together in celebration and fellowship.

Reverend Peters hails from North Carolina, where she served in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC). She previously served as a UMC missionary in South Korea and Japan. She recently moved to Redcar with her husband Luke to serve the Cleveland & Danby Methodist Circuit.

Meg was warmly received by the congregation, and her arrival has been met with great enthusiasm. She spoke with Luke Myer MP at the event, and he said he is looking forward to working with her on shared priorities for the local community.

Luke Myer MP said:
‘It was wonderful to be part of the service to welcome Reverend Meg Peters to Guisborough Methodist Church.

‘I grew up in this church circuit, attending Brotton Methodist with my family – all our local churches play such a vital role in supporting people and bringing communities together, and I look forward to working closely with Reverend Peters in the months and years ahead.’
