NHS appointment secured for Brotton student

25 March 2025

A deaf young person from Brotton has had his hospital appointment brought forward by five months after Luke Myer MP stepped in to help.

Faith contacted Luke because her son was struggling with his hearing while studying at Redcar & Cleveland College. He needed medical evidence to access additional support around his exams, but his hospital appointment was not due to take place until September.

Luke raised the case directly with the NHS and demanded the appointment be brought forward so the delay did not affect his education. The hospital reviewed the case and moved the appointment forward to April, allowing him to be seen months earlier than originally planned. Faith later thanked Luke for his support and said her son was happy with the outcome.

Anyone needing help can email luke.myer.mp@parliament.uk, call 01287 658299, visit Luke’s Guisborough constituency office, or book a face-to-face appointment at lukemyer.uk/surgeries.
