Middlesbrough Council has confirmed that vouchers have now been sent automatically to families where schools have identified children eligible for the latest phase of the Household Support Fund. Families eligible can receive a £70 voucher per child.

Residents who believe they may be eligible but have not received a voucher can apply through the council’s website. Applications may take up to three weeks to process, and the council has asked people not to contact them for updates within this period.

The Household Support Fund, funded by the Labour Governement, runs from April 2025 to March 2026, with support released in phases to ensure it reaches those most in need. Applications are now open for households without benefits, households with children, and pensioner households. Payments are made on a first come, first served basis and will close once the council’s allocation from the UK Government is fully used.
