Busy surgery in Marton marks 61st for Luke

Tonight (14 November 2025) Luke Myer MP held his 61st constituency surgery, with a fully-booked session in Marton where residents raised a wide range of local concerns and personal issues.

The advice surgery gave people the chance to speak directly with their MP about issues including benefits, SEND, trading standards, local services and national policy. Luke and his team will now be following up with the council, local agencies and government departments where needed to secure help for those who attended.

Luke Myer MP said:

“Marton surgeries are often busy and I am grateful to everyone who took the time to come along and share what is happening in their lives. Some of the issues are very personal and often quite difficult, and I will do everything I can to help move things forward for those who have put their trust in me.”

He thanked local Marton East councillors Dorothy and Jason for use of their community centre. Luke is proud to work cross-party with Dorothy & Jason to get results for local residents.

Since being elected, Luke has made regular face-to-face advice surgeries a core part of his work as the MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, ensuring that constituents in both all parts of the constituency have opportunities to raise issues directly with him. In August, the Evening Gazette reported how “he has averaged nearly one constituency surgery a week” since being elected, working as “a constituency MP“.

There are still appointments available for upcoming surgeries in Park End on Tuesday and Guisborough on Friday. Constituents who would like to request an appointment can do so at lukemyer.uk/surgeries.
