Luke Myer MP joined families, volunteers and young people at Easington Village Hall this morning for a community Bear Hunt and Teddy Bears’ Picnic celebrating the best of village life.
The event brought together Easington Brownies, Rainbows and local residents for a morning of games, activities and refreshments. Luke spent time chatting with families, thanking everyone who helped organise the event and even had a go at the “guess the bear’s name” competition.
Having grown up just along the road in Brotton, Luke is the first MP for our area to come from East Cleveland. He has made a point of regularly visiting villages across the area, meeting residents, supporting community events and celebrating local achievements. Today’s visit follows a number of recent examples of supporting Easington, including welcoming the new Easington curate Revd Dr Gill Boag-Munroe, recognising Easington’s Deaflympics star Mia Wiseman, and continuing to meet residents through local advice surgeries and events.
Luke Myer MP said:
“It was lovely to spend the morning in Easington and see so many families enjoying themselves. Thank you to all the organisers involved in events like this, made possible by volunteers and community groups who give up their time to bring people together.
“Good luck to whoever won the teddy bear!”
