Ambitious new policy plan calls on TVCA to back jobs, skills and transport investment in East Cleveland
Today (12 September 2025) at British Steel in Skinningrove, Luke Myer MP unveiled an East Cleveland Growth Plan – setting out an ambitious programme to drive investment in transport, skills, housing and health.
The plan has been developed with local businesses and makes the case for targeted investment in East Cleveland. Luke Myer MP is calling on the Tees Valley Combined Authority to back the proposals and ensure East Cleveland plays its full role in delivering prosperity for the region.
Luke Myer MP said:
“East Cleveland is a proud community with enormous potential, but for too long it has been overlooked in regional planning. Families and businesses here face high costs, limited transport and fewer opportunities than they deserve. This plan is about fairness, making sure East Cleveland plays its full part in Tees Valley growth. With investment in transport, skills, housing and health, we can unlock new jobs, cut bills and build the future our area deserves.“
“This plan shows a clear way forward. With the right support East Cleveland can drive forward clean energy, tourism and industry, while giving young people real opportunities close to home. I am calling on the Tees Valley Combined Authority to back this plan and unlock the potential East Cleveland has.”
