Luke Myer MP Visits Sunnyside Academy for Careers Week

Visit highlights inspiring student engagement, SEND support, and future career aspirations.

Luke Myer MP visited Sunnyside Academy in Coulby Newham this week as part of the school’s Careers Week celebrations, praising the staff and students for their energy, ambition, and focus on the future.

After a full tour of the school, Luke met with the Student Council for a lively Q&A session about the role of a Member of Parliament. Students asked thoughtful questions about Parliament, public service, and the impact politics has on their local area – showcasing their pride in their school and their enthusiasm to make a difference.

The visit also included a conversation with the school’s SEND leads, where Luke was able to hear more about the dedicated work being done to ensure all pupils are supported and included. He saw firsthand some of the excellent provisions the school has put in place to make sure every child can thrive.
