Luke returns to old college on busy Guisborough visit

9 October 2026

Local MP Luke Myer was back in Guisborough on Friday 9 October, visiting his old college Prior Pursglove, chatting to high street businesses and holding his 109th constituency surgery.

Luke returned to Prior, where he studied before going into teaching and politics, to face questions from local Politics students. The lively Q&A covered everything from local crime to the new Prime Minister, electoral reform and the future of the North of England.

Afterwards, Luke headed onto the high street to speak with some local Guisborough independent businesses, before meeting Guisborough residents at his 109th advice surgery to hear their concerns and help with local issues. Luke is regularly in Guisborough all year round, where his constituency office is open on Fountain Street from Monday to Friday.

His next Guisborough surgery, his 113th since becoming MP, will take place on Friday 6 November. There are also further surgeries in Brotton, Stainton and Easington beforehand. Residents wishing to book an appointment at one of Luke’s upcoming advice surgeries can visit lukemyer.uk/surgeries.
