Luke Myer MP has taken the case of a Stainton family stranded in Dubai directly to the Prime Minister, after concerns that a family member was running out of essential medication.
Luke was contacted after the family became stranded during the crisis in the Middle East. He personally contacted the Foreign Office crisis team over the weekend, and continued pressing for support as concerns grew about access to medication.
Luke then raised the family’s case with the Prime Minister in the House of Commons, calling for consular support to help British families access essential medication and return home safely. The following day, the family managed to secure an emergency flight back to Manchester. A relative thanked Luke on behalf of the family for his “help and advice”.

Luke has warned against a “spiralling regional war” with Iran, while consistently opposing Iran’s repressive regime and supporting the Iranian people’s democratic freedoms. He believes Britain’s priority should be diplomacy, de-escalation and international law rather than being drawn into an open-ended war.
